Most alpha-lipoic acid supplements on the market are racemic which means they contain half the R form and half the S form. But of the two only the R form is naturally present in the body.

R-Alpha Lipoic Acid (RALA) acts as a cofactor for energy production and also helps to regulate the metabolism of lipids and glucose. RALA supports enzymes involved in phase II liver detoxification and promotes the synthesis of the body's super antioxidant, glutathione.

D-biotin is added into this formula because it is a natural cofactor for RALA and may work together with it to support mitochondrial health. D-biotin is the biologically active form that occurs naturally.

Fast and efficient
I was unable to purchase my regular Alpha Lipoic from an Australian bulk supplier because their supplier had ceased production, The warehouse said it was becoming too difficult to manufacture . It took a few days of frantic searching of the internet to locate a company that had any Alpha Lipoic in stock especially R Alpha Lipoic. When I did locate Return 2Health i did not speak to anyone so left a message as requested.
I did not expect to hear from them.
However the following day I received a phone call and I was very surprised they had R Alpha Lipoic in stock. Also it was a New Zealand company. I live in Queensland.
The lovely young lady from Return 2 Health said that they always try to return the calls even if they are overseas.
The order arrived within a week. Another surprise. it was well packaged and professionally presented. The product is good quality and easy to take.
I will be ordering more when my supply runs low. .
