Delicious Turmeric Latte

A trendy & healthy latte!

Ingredients:


  • 1 cup milk or unsweetened almond/coconut milk
  • 1 heaped tablespoon turmuric root, peeled and grated (or 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric powder)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger root, peeled and grated (or 1 teaspoon ground ginger)
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cardamon pods
  • Honey, stevia or other natural sweetener to taste
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)


Method:


  1. Add milk to a small pot and gently heat, but do not boil.
  2. Add turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, cardamon pods, vanilla and pepper. Mix and add coconut oil, stirring until its melted.
  3. Stir constantly for 3 minutes or until milk is warm, but again not boiling.
  4. Strain into a cup and stir in honey or other sweetener. Froth with a milk frother for a 2-3 seconds (or alternatively blend to form froth), sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.
